APG announces corporate partnership with Ronald McDonald House

RonaldMacDonaldAPG is thrilled to announce our national support for Ronald McDonald House as a new Corporate Partner as part of the APG Community Tree program. The cornerstone program of Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) is to provide a ‘home away from home’ for families of seriously ill children being treated at nearby hospitals.  In 1981 the first Australian Ronald McDonald House opened in Sydney’s Camperdown. There are now 16 Ronald McDonald Houses in Australia and more than 360 houses worldwide.

The Community Tree by APG is focused on partnerships that support charities and local sporting clubs. By supporting these organisations, we are enriching the fabric of the community and providing support for long-term wellbeing.

Children are a special part of the APG family. Families are such a large part of the APG framework that we are naturally geared towards helping as many regional and metro children’s charities as we possibly can. It is about more than just providing monetary assistance; we encourage our employees to donate their time to causes close to their hearts, leading by example by lending a helping hand. By investing in the next generation of Australians, we can feel confident that we are contributing to a future society that is the best it possibly can be.

On Monday 30th April 2018 APG Directors Glenn Redman and David Stack along with National Operations Manager, Tammy Sheather and Charity/Events Manager, Brooke Onley had the privilege to visit the RMHC in Westmead, NSW to tour the new facilities and to launch the partnership.

In launching the new partnership, APG Director Glenn Redman explained.

Ronald McDonald House is a credible, professional and proactive organisation and one of the most respected children’s charities in Australia, that support families of children with serious illness.

“The Community Tree by APG was created to support Children's Charities in particular, who are so important in shaping the future of the world. The health and wellbeing of our children is an area close to our hearts with so many families working through APG in the office, on farms, manufacturing plants, construction sites, transport and storage sites, the list goes on.

“APG are in the people business. We understand how important meaningful careers are, but beyond that we also understand that employment is just one part of the equation of life.

It’s great to be involved with such an amazing charity that provides support for people who are often at their lowest point, providing guests with a homely place to stay, where staff and guests provide moral and emotional support to one another, to assist getting them through their child’s illness.

APG Workforce and Ronald McDonald House are like minded organisations that are committed to supporting people when they need it most.

As with any tree, The Community Tree by APG will continue to grow in strength, stature and rings of experience as the years go by. With regular love and nourishment, we envision a broad canopy that will provide shelter and respite for the communities that gather beneath it.
