Indigenous Training
While providing mining jobs to indigenous staff is valuable, it is the training and new skills these staff will gain while working for AP Global that will be invaluable and enable them to advance within their careers and to move outside the mining sector if desired to maintain sustainable employment in other fields.
- As a Group Training Organisation, AP Global undertakes the employers' responsibilities for the quality and continuity of the apprentices' and trainees' employment and training and as such also manages the additional care and support necessary to achieve the successful completion of the training contract.
- AP Global will work with contract staff to support skills development external to their positions.
Mentoring
As new employees to the workforce face a variety of challenges and as such need to be supported as they adapt to their new working role. In helping indigenous workers make the transition to a working life, mentors are invaluable in creating a supportive relationship between an indigenous employee as well as the employer.
A mentor provides support, encouragement, constructive advice, and assists the new worker with problem solving.
